Family Law

Legal Experience:

Mr. Wehrman is an experienced attorney who has exclusively focused his practice in the area of family law since 2014. Before then, Mr. Wehrman’s practice included the representation of medical professionals and businesses in the defense of allegations of negligence. Mr. Wehrman has successfully tried financial and parenting cases in Cook County, DuPage County, and McHenry County, as well as practicing in Lake County and occasionally Will County. Mr. Wehrman takes a team approach to his cases, working to both advocate for and educate his clients.

While Mr. Wehrman’s focus is litigation, he has also completed the Divorce Mediation Skills Training through Northwestern University and uses the skill set to help resolve issues without litigation when appropriate or feasible.

Mr. Wehrman is a former Big Ten athlete who qualified for both the 2004 and 2008 Men’s Olympic Trials in the Marathon. He formerly served as the President and board member of the Chicago Area Runners’ Association (CARA), is an endurance running coach for RunBetter App and EDGE Athlete Lounge in Chicago, was a Nike+ running coach and works with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon broadcast team.

Educational/Personal Background:

Mr. Wehrman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science-Pre Law from the Michigan State University in 1998. He received his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2002 and his Master’s in Public Administration from Michigan State University in 2002, where he was also an assistant cross country and track (distances) coach.
