Our Team
The three founding partners of our firm, Stephen H. Katz (now deceased), Ilene B. Goldstein, and Todd R. Warren, came together to form the team in 1998. Even before the official founding of the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm, the three founding principals had practiced together in the field of matrimonial law for many years.
Over the firm’s more than 25-year history, the team has continued to grow, now encompassing nine active attorneys committed to securing the best outcomes for our clients.

Stephen H. Katz (Deceased)
Founding partner Stephen Katz practiced family law in Lake County, Illinois, for more than 37 years. His accolades include being named among North Shore Magazine’s top 20 divorce lawyers in the Chicagoland area, getting elected a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and being recognized in the book of the Best Lawyers in America.
The Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm is honored to still carry Mr. Katz’s name as we continue the practice of matrimonial law at the level of excellence for which Mr. Katz was known.
Ilene B. Goldstein
Founding principal Ilene B. Goldstein has concentrated on matrimonial and family law since she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1985. In addition to her work as an active trial attorney, Ms. Goldstein has been appointed by the Court to represent children in custody disputes and has served on the Board of Directors of CASA “Court Appointed Special Advocates.” Her numerous accolades include her status as an Illinois Family Law Super Lawyer and recognition among the Best Lawyers in America.
Todd R. Warren
Founding principal Todd R. Warren earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1989 and has concentrated on the practice of matrimonial law ever since. Mr. Warren also serves as an arbiter in Lake County, Illinois, a member of the Volunteer Lawyers Program, and a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the American Bar Association’s Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute. Recognition Mr. Warren has received throughout his career includes being named on the Illinois Law Bulletin’s “Top 40 Under 40 Illinois Attorney” list and the Leading Lawyers Network’s list of the top 5% of domestic relations attorneys in Illinois.
Marc R. Fisher
Partner Marc R. Fisher joined the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm in 2005 and was promoted to partner in 2010. Mr. Fisher graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in 2004 and has been recognized with the distinctions of Leading Lawyer and Super Lawyer, as well as having been named among the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer magazine’s “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch.”
Rosemary R. Alexander
Partner Rosemary R. Alexander earned her Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in 1979 and first began practicing law in Texas. She has been licensed to practice in Illinois since 1997 and joined the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm in 1998. Mrs. Alexander is a Certified Children’s Representative and Guardian Ad Litem in Lake County, Illinois. She has also served as an editor of the Southwestern Law Journal and a member of the Leading Lawyers Network published by the Illinois Law Bulletin.
Heather M. Nosko
Partner Heather M. Nosko graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctor Degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2005. She joined the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm in the role of partner in 2017. Recognition of Ms. Nosko includes her distinctions as a Leading Lawyer, Emerging/Leading Lawyer, and Rising Star, as well as articles covering her work in numerous regional and national publications.
Steven H. Klein
Partner Steven H. Klein earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 1990. Through numerous publications and lectures for organizations such as the National Business Institute, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Mr. Klein has shared his knowledge of complex facets of family law.
Christopher D. Wehrman
Partner Christopher D. Wehrman earned his Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2002 and has concentrated exclusively on family law since 2014. Mr. Wehrman serves clients with his extensive skills in litigation as well as the skills he developed through formal Divorce Mediation Skills Training at Northwestern University.
Marlene R. Halpern
Associate Marlene R. Halpern earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois in 1988 and joined the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm in 2001. In addition to bringing with her 13 years of civil litigation experience, Ms. Halpern’s knowledge of Spanish supports our team’s commitment to assisting all families throughout the Northeastern Illinois region.
Kyle M. Ruchim
Associate Kyle M. Ruchim graduated summa cum laude with his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2019 and joined the Katz, Goldstein & Warren Law Firm that same year. Mr. Ruchim’s law career follows a three-year professional baseball career. During law school, he earned the distinction of Family Law Fellow. He was honored with six CALI Excellence Awards, including awards in Evidence, Business Fundamentals, and Civil Litigation Strategies.
